Warning: Geeks at work

So I caved and purchased a HP ProLiant ML115, beefed it up with 4G RAM and picked up a couple of 1Tb disks.

The current plan is to use the 160gb drive it ships with to store the The Xen™ hypervisor and software RAID the other disks and use those for various virtual machines.

I've applied to DXI Networks for an additional /28 (16 IP addresses) to be allocated to the company I host with. Assuming that's granted (and I don't see why it wouldn't be), I'll switch out my currently running machine with this new one running a couple of VMs.

Current thinking is one VM will run various websites and associated databases. Another VM will be solely for my FreeSwitch PBX which powers my home phone. A small VM can run DNS for the machines and lastly I may power up something Windows based, 'just because'.

Hardware will arrive tomorrow, and I'll play with some stuff this coming weekend. Between now and then I just hope DXI are happy to allocate some additional IPs.
