Having raised the idea of being in Miami for the weekend after . . . Emma arrived from Austin last Saturday and after a few days of pottering, we started the 250 mile journey to Liverpool – home of The Beatles – on Wednesday where we were to spend her birthday. Upon arriving, we checked into the Hard Days Night Beatles themed boutique hotel. The room was . . . Our final bit of a day on the boat. As we'd been anchored all night, it was a restful night sleep. The passing shot from Mauricio was the 0530 alarm. Not a single lay in all trip! Boo! In usual fashion, I woke thirty minutes before and spent a while reading on the upper deck. . . . A very early start today – 0530 wake up for me, getting to the island of Santa Fe for 8am. Due to the island having little shade, Mauricio was keen to have this trip complete before the sun got too high (and thus hot) in the sky. The slightly burned back of my legs thanked . . . The overnight journey was a nightmare! The seas were alive, tossing and turning the boat everywhere. Despite a very broken night of sleep, the 630am wake up call wasn't too bad. The first trip of the morning was to wander around the island. It was a dry landing onto a crab, sea lion and excrement . . . |
